As the Environmental Corporate Compliance Manager, Chris oversees and implements all legal obligations in our Environmental Compliance Plan (ECP) and conditions of probation, and works closely with the Court Appointed Monitor, the Third Party Auditor and the Probation Officer. In addition to overseeing and leading the environmental efforts within the operating companies, Chris is responsible for:
- Driving improvements in waste management, technology and design.
- Establishing, monitoring and assessing key performance indicators for environmental compliance.
- Overseeing the fleet Environmental Compliance Training Officer Program.
Since joining Carnival Corporation in 2007, Chris has held a number of key positions with increasing responsibility supporting the company’s policy development, internal audits and investigations. Prior to his role in environmental compliance, he was Corporate Senior Director, Safety and Occupational Safety, and led the company’s Engine Room Fire Risk Mitigation Program (the design and rollout of extensive upgrades to fire detection and suppression systems across the fleet). Chris started his career as a Marine Engineering Officer with Exxon and Mobil in 1997 and also worked on board our Holland America Line ships before joining Carnival Corporation & plc’s audit, focused review and investigation department. Chris also chaired the company’s cross-brand Technical, Marine and Occupational Safety focus groups.
