News Release

AIDAblu opens first Langnese Happiness Station at sea

Following its scheduled period in dry dock from October 29 to November 10, 2017, at the Chantier Naval shipyard in Marseille, AIDAblu now has even more attractive onboard features.

One of the exclusive highlights aboard AIDAblu is the new ice cream bar by Langnese Happiness Station that makes it possible to enjoy this ice cream aboard a cruise ship for the very first time. In future guests will be able to compose their favorite ice cream themselves, choosing from countless delicious ingredients. Apart from the popular Swirl, scoops from the Carte D'Or brand, and a soft-serve variety for our youngest guests are also available as are select specialty coffees.

Those who love jewelry, watches and home accessories will now find an even bigger range aboard AIDAblu. On the new promenade on Deck 9, the store concept has been modernized and now has an even more open and friendly look. The attractive range of products in the categories of jewelry and watches, perfume and cosmetics, fashion and accessories, living and gift, kids, and the AIDA World make this the perfect place to go for a leisurely browse. This is where guests will be able to find vacation souvenirs, their new favorite items, and gift ideas for their loved ones at home such as the items designed exclusively in partnership with Meissen Porcelain.

The sports area on Deck 11 has also had a makeover. The machine area has been completely fitted out with new life-fitness cardio equipment and new Tomahawk indoor cycling bikes. The view of the sea will double our guests' pleasure in a workout. Metabolic testing and body analyses by Cardioscan for an optimum training program will also be possible on board AIDAblu in future.

Apart from regular class and maintenance work, AIDAblu is now the seventh ship in the AIDA fleet to be fitted with an exhaust treatment system. Known as a "scrubber," this system virtually eliminates sulfur dioxide emissions altogether.

Cosmetic repairs and refurbishments, such as the replacement of 3,000 sqm of carpeting, have also been effected on board on the basis of more than 30 different projects.

AIDAblu is currently on her way from Palma de Mallorca to Tenerife from where the cruise ship will be traveling to Madeira and the Canary Islands during the winter season. More information about the Canary Islands cruises and bookings is available at travel agencies, at www.aida.de or by calling the AIDA Customer Center at +49 (0)381/ 202 7070 07.
