P&O Offers Cruisey New Way For Aussies to Explore Asia

P&O Cruises is offering the ultimate Asia escape this winter with amazing deals on Pacific Eden's inaugural Singapore season.

On sale until April 27, 2016, fares start from $849* per person quad share for a 14-night roundtrip cruise departing Singapore on August 13, 2016 and including visits to nine ports across Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Seven-night cruises are priced from $549* per person quad share.

With its boutique size making it ideal to cruise to smaller islands, the 1500-guest Pacific Eden will become the first cruise ship to visit Ko Chang (August 9), an island paradise in Thailand offering an irresistible combination of white sand beaches, stunning rain forests, coral reefs and jungle-shrouded mountains.

Other cruise destinations include Cambodia's beautiful seaside town of Sihanoukville; Malaysia's stunning Langkawi island and the popular Thai ports of Bangkok, Ko Samui, Phuket and Krabi provincial beach town Ao Nang.

P&O Cruises President Sture Myrmell said the addition of Pacific Eden and sister ship Pacific Aria to the fleet last year had allowed P&O Cruises to offer its first season of Asian cruises, opening up new itinerary possibilities.

"We have been pioneering cruising in the region for more than 80 years and are still discovering fantastic cruise destinations for our guests. Asia has long been a favourite travel destination with Australian holidaymakers and we're thrilled to be offering a new way to experience the wonders of the region from the stylish decks of Pacific Eden," Mr Myrmell said.

"Our new Asia holidays combine a mixture of popular destinations including Phuket and Langkawi with off-the-beaten-track ports best accessed by ship such as Ko Chang in the Gulf of Thailand. These cruises offer the ultimate Asian adventure and the best part is that our guests only have to unpack once before being treated to a week or two exploring some of the world's most stunning destinations, all while enjoying the great value of a cruise holiday and the comfort of a ship designed to suit their tastes."

*subject to availability, terms and conditions apply. On sale until April 27, 2016 and including up to $300 onboard credit per room and free soft drink package per person.

Notes to editors: The region's largest and longest-serving cruise operator, P&O Cruises Australia leads the way in cruising as Australasia's only 'home brand' and its favourite cruise line. P&O Cruises has been sailing the region for more than 80 years, and has pioneered new destinations around Australia, the Pacific and Asia including Papua New Guinea, as reported in the New York Times' 52 top destinations for 2015. On November 25, 2015, P&O Cruises will welcome two additional ships to its current three-ship fleet becoming the nation's largest cruise line with five ships cruising from eight home ports in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. The addition of Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden has paved the way for exciting new cruise options including deployments from every mainland state in Australia and an extended deployment from Auckland. The pair herald a new era for P&O Cruises, as reflected in its new brand repositioning - P&O Cruises, Like no Place on Earth.
